Informed by data from Statistics Canada
The interactive oil and gas reserves chart was created in 2018, the chart takes data from Statistics Canada regarding the varying reserves of different oil and gas products by region. Reserves represent the amount of a particular product remaining that can be technically recovered at a cost that is financially feasible given the price of the commodity.
The graph takes data on a quarterly timescale from 1962-2007. Reserves are in cubic meters (m3), and plotted on a logarithmic scale for visual comparison.
All data has been retrieved from Statistics Canada CANSIM database, table 128-0004
